Plain terms for a site that sells nothing. Using valoren-forge.com means you accept what follows. If you disagree with any of it, please stop using the site.

1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of valoren-forge.com, operated by Valoren Forge, a brand of Vizcaino & Dulac Associates LLC, Wyoming, USA ("we", "us"). They cover the website only. Your purchase of a product is governed by Amazon's terms, not by these.

2. The site is informational

This is a brand and support site. It presents our tools, explains how they are made and maintained, and links out to Amazon. There is no checkout, no account, no order status and no customer data stored here.

3. Purchases go through Amazon

  • Orders, payment, shipping, delivery estimates, returns and refunds are handled by Amazon under Amazon's terms.
  • Prices and availability shown on Amazon are the accurate ones. Nothing on this site is an offer to sell.
  • Links to Amazon are provided for convenience. We do not control Amazon's site, policies or listings.
  • Amazon and the Amazon logo are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.

4. Product information

We publish specifications we can stand behind: 9Cr18MoV High Carbon Stainless Steel at HRC 58–60, an acid-etched forge pattern on the flat of the blade with the bevel and cutting edge left polished and unetched, walnut palm-swell handles with a laser-engraved logo, and kiln-dried knot-free basswood at 8–12% moisture.

Because tools are finished by hand, grain, colour and etch pattern vary between individual pieces. Photography and diagrams are illustrative, and a diagram on this site is not to scale. If a specification here ever conflicts with the Amazon listing for a set, the Amazon listing for the item you bought governs.

5. Carving tools are sharp

Our tools ship with a working edge and are intended for adult use. Keep them away from children. Use the included cut-resistant glove and thumb guard as intended by their own manufacturers, and follow the instructions supplied with your set.

Nothing on this site is safety advice, medical advice, or a guarantee against injury. You are responsible for how you use a cutting tool.

6. Tutorials and care guidance

The Craft & Care section and any tutorials we publish are general guidance based on how we use our own tools. They are offered in good faith and without warranty of any kind. Techniques, materials and workshops differ; use your own judgement, and stop if something does not feel right.

7. Our guarantee

We guarantee that a tool arrives with a working edge and free of manufacturing defects, as described in Our Promise on the home page. That covers things like a walnut handle that splits or works loose, a chip in an edge that was not caused by use, or a grind that is not true.

It does not cover:

  • Normal dulling from use.
  • Rust or staining on a tool that was stored wet or damp.
  • Damage from dropping, prying, striking, or use on materials other than wood.
  • Modification, regrinding to a different bevel, or repairs by third parties.
  • Normal wear on wood, leather and consumables such as compound and balm.

This guarantee is offered in addition to, and does not limit, the statutory rights you have as a consumer, or the remedies available to you through Amazon.

8. How to make a claim

Email our support inbox with your Amazon order number and a photo of the issue. Because Amazon handles orders and refunds, a replacement or return may be processed through them; we will tell you which route is fastest for your case.

9. Intellectual property

The Valoren Forge name, the hammer-and-chisel mark, the "Rooted in Quality" line, the acid-etched forge pattern as applied to our blades, and the text, diagrams, photographs and design of this site are ours or used with permission. You may read, print and share pages for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy our copy, imagery or branding for your own listings, packaging or advertising.

10. Acceptable use

  • Do not attempt to disrupt, probe or gain unauthorised access to the site or its host.
  • Do not scrape or republish the site's content as your own.
  • Do not use our brand in a way that suggests we endorse you, your shop or your products.

11. Third-party links

We link to Amazon, to social platforms and, once tutorials publish, to a video platform. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, terms or privacy practices.

12. Availability and changes

We do our best to keep the site up, but it is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We may change, add or remove pages, product information and these terms at any time; the date at the top shows the current version.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Valoren Forge is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of this website or from reliance on guidance published here. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the place where Valoren Forge is established, [jurisdiction to be confirmed], without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and without depriving you of the protections of the mandatory consumer law of your own country of residence.

15. Contact

Questions about these terms: our contact email. Ricardo reads that inbox.
